Located about 35 km from the state capital of Dehradun, at an average altitude of 1,880 metres (6,170 ft), Mussoorie, with its green hills and varied flora and fauna, is a fascinating hill resort. Commanding snow ranges to the north-east and glittering views of the Doon Valley and Shiwalik ranges in the south, the town was once said to present a 'fairyland' atmosphere to tourists.
Mountain biking, trekking, rock climbing and rappelling are some activities you could conduct during a 3 day trip to this beautiful hill station.
Leave Delhi early morning by car to reach Mussorie by afternoon. Check in to your hotel and relax for a few hours. Walk around the Mall Road which runs through the town and let your camera capture unforgettable memories of the beautiful hills and valleys. Shop at the souvenir shops or relax over a cappuccino at one of the numerous coffee shops.
Start your day with a leisure walk down the Camels' Back Road and indulge in some horse riding. Drive to Lal Tibba, the highest point in the region to see some of the most picturesque views of the Himalayan Garwhal region. Visit the the famoug Gun Hill, Christ Church, Nag Devta Temple and Shedup Choepelling Temple before going to the Mussorie Adventure Park where you can zip line 800ft from end to end for an adrenaline rush over lush pine forests. Have a picnic at the Muncipal Garden where your spend a relaxing evening with your loved ones.
After a hot breakfast you can visit one of the wildlife sanctuaries followed by a drive to the Kempty Falls and Lake Mist where you can have a cool shower under the falls. Return to Delhi late night.
